I’m trying really hard to be a lady and not drool - the new <a href="hhttp://www.apple.com/ca/imac/"target="_blank">iMacs are here. They look so sexy! Beautifully thin and check out that aluminum frame - perfection. All I need now is Leopard, a new video iPod and the iPhone to be released in Canada and all my Apple dreams would be complete for 2007.

I’ve obviously been having a hard time keeping this blog up-to-date. Work has been busy (just hired some new peeps) and I’ve been making preparations for Grad School in the Fall. I successfully enrolled in my courses this morning. I’m really enjoying my summer so far. I recently got back from a 2 week vacation to Vancouver/Victoria and had a great time. I saw a lot of the Island and did mini road trips during the day. It’s a beautiful city and I finally got to meet my favourite cousin’s daughter who is 6 months old. She is adorable and has taken permanent residence in my heart. We got along so well, and she is such a good baby. She hardly cries and sleeps through the night - 8 hours easily!

I was on my way to the airport when I flew from Toronto when I realized that I had forgotten to pack my iPod. How retarded is that?! Out of all the things I could have forgotten..I was so mad at myself. My Macbook was pretty much my savior on the trip since I had quite a lot of music on it too. I love seeing other Mac users in public, and there were plenty at the airport. We would always smile at each other when we notice the glowing Apple logo. It’s so sexy and charming and you always get envious looks from other people. I can’t get enough of this machine. I would put it in the corner of my room at night and play songs on it like it was a stereo. My cousin thought the Macbook was super cool and we had a lot of fun playing on it. I hope I can convince her to get one! Macs are the only way to go for me. My sisters are also enamored. I finally got rid of my Dell desktop for good and this is now my main computer.

So these are the new albums I’ve been loving lately:

Interpol - Our Love To Admire
Travis - The Boy With No Name
Blonde Redhead - 23
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Editors - An End Has A Start

The new Interpol is orgasmic. I totally love it. Never as much as their debut, but the first track (”Pioneer to the falls”) is amazing and my favourite on the album right now. My favourite part has to be when the guitar totally kicks in, Daniel is just totally rad and I’m so in awe of his fine guitar skillz. I can’t wait to see these boys live in action again. The new Spoon & Editors is great too, and I can never say anything bad about Blonde Redhead albums. I haven’t listened to Travis in a looooong time either so I’m glad I got hold of their new album.

I’m really looking forward to the new Matt Nathanson and M.I.A. this August.

Oh, and I got tickets to THE CURE. Yes!

After a very satisfying meal of Thai food at <a href="http://www.saladking.com"target="_blank">Salad King with my favourite sexxxy librarians on Wednesday night, I was off to the <a href="http://www.joshuaradin.com"target="_blank">Joshua Radin show @ the El Mocambo. The weather was crappy, but I was in good spirits. I had been looking forward to this show since it was announced and pretty much listen to his album on repeat on the iPod. I joined the long line-up to get in only for the doorman to tell me the show was sold-out and there was “no way” I would be getting in. I guess I totally underestimated the show would sell-out and cursed at myself for not buying a ticket in advance. I was bummed but hadn’t lost all hope. Surely there was someone who would sell me their extra ticket because I know friends ditch their friends at concerts all the time! I was there in the cold and rain for almost 30 mins when who would walk right by me? Josh, himself. I went up to him and introduced myself and told him I couldn’t get into the show. The man was so nice that he got me on his guest list and let me in even though I told him I really wanted to pay for my ticket. We chatted for a while before and after the show and I have to say he comes across as one of the nicest, most genuine musicians I have ever met. I’ll never forget it!

The show itself was superb and the crowd was super awesome and supportive, laughing along when Josh attempted to give us a Geography lesson, talk about beer and donuts, and all that good banter that happens in between playing songs. <a href="http://www.schuylerfisk.com"target="_blank">Schuyler Fisk (hehe, I remember her as Kristy in The Babysitters Club movie!) opened the show and also sang harmony with Josh for many of his songs - they sound so beautiful together and hope they record more material soon. It was great to hear Josh tell us the inspiration behind a lot of his songs like how “Everything’ll Be Alright” was written as a lullaby to help put his friend’s son Will to sleep. That song is one of my favourites off his album We Were Here. The Yaz cover of “Only You” (one of my favourite 80s tunes) was also the highlight for me.

I can’t wait until he comes back again but for now, We Were Here will help put me to a blissful sleep.

The Easter long weekend obviously seemed to pass by way too fast, I feel like I’ve hardly recovered from the craziness that was work on Saturday. Two programs at the same time was obviously too much for me. I can’t believe the snow we had either. I can’t wait for the sunshine to come back again.

At least today I was able to try Johnny’s Hamburgers in Scarborough for lunch, my friends have been telling me all about this joint for ages and it’s pretty close to where I live so it’s funny that I’ve only tried it now. It was packed for lunch but it was oh-so-good! My sister and I both had a burger and then shared an order of fries with gravy and the vanilla milkshake. I haven’t had a milkshake in years and it was really yummy. The fries were very, very average though but the burger was juicy and not at all greasy which I really liked. I will deffo be back.

I guess the rest of the weekend involved going out to eat several times with my parents, visiting Pacific Mall for some bubble tea + DVDs, downloading geeky mac-related podcasts, and having The Office viewing marathons, including watching all the deleted scenes on the DVDs. It’s great that I have a new must-see television show on Thursdays now, NBC used to have Friends and everyone knows I was obsessed with Ross + Rachel. My friend June introduced me to this BBC dark comedy Nighty Night which I just started watching. I have to start watching more shows on BBC.
